Accounting feels like the definition of a steady career. You rarely see huge spikes, but you also don’t see huge drops. The tradeoff is that growth can feel slow compared to other fields. Curious if people prefer that consistency or ever wish for more upside.

To be honest, that's one of the main reasons I got into accounting. I wanted a stable, predictable career for the long term and I think accounting fits that criteria pretty well.

This is well said. I’ve been in this industry for 35 years and have gone through some major market crashes and activity. This is one of the industries that is mostly recession proof. Yes there have been years where we received no increases our bonuses and there might’ve been some additional layoffs or less hiring, but it was nothing compared to what was happening in the market. We should consider ourselves lucky.

Facebook Ads after iOS 14 changes.

I'll share my experience and urge you to share yours:

Since iOS 14 changes, Facebook ads isn't the same anymore. Why?

A. >75% iOS users denied tracking. They are no longer tracked across websites/apps. Facebook lost its edge.
B. Targeting and conversion tracking aren't as effective anymore.
C. Many advertisers have been migrating their budgets from Facebook to Apple and Amazon ads.

How do you get experience when no one will hire you? I wouldn’t mind hanging a shingle but I feel it’d be irresponsible to do so with no experience. Unlike all of my classmates, I never landed an internship/externship in law school - had only one interview. I was a PT law student, came from a CS background, and worked in IT throughout law school. I passed the bar exam on my first try (Oct 2020) and have only had a couple interviews out of the hundreds of applications I sent out. Any suggestions?
