I will always pick the firms that: quick responses to emails, SHORT status updates (don’t try to bill me for a 30 page status report when 2 paragraphs in an email will suffice), give your honest opinion of a case even if it means we have to pay considerably..I don’t want to be surprised 6 months in. And cookies to the claims dept never hurt…lol
I need to trust you. Not be over billed. And don’t make me chase you for an update.
Sometimes we don’t have a choice. We have legal vendor managers who tell us which companies we have to use. The company may have National contracts with big firms and we have to use who we are told to use.
As a litigation adjuster, we want your professional expertise. We have outlines that must be followed with budgets that need to be adhered too. The last thing we want to hear is you recommend settlement after 12 months of expensive discovery. We recognize it may take that long at times but if you think settlement is the best answer, tell us. Don’t charge me for a 16 page report that could be done in 3 paragraphs. Call me and discuss strategy. If you need an expert to help with the case, tell me sooner than later.
Understand most companies have an outline that your firm has agreed to so please honor it.
I agree. And stick to the budget you give us and be realistic. I don’t want a $250k budget for a case that could settle for $25k (unless we tell you we aren’t settling the case on principle).
