I do enjoy the ability to leave my work at work. Not having to feel like I'm always available on my office laptop when I'm working from home. But everything else? Not for me. The commute, the communal lunch room, the open office concept, trying to be heard over a phone call when somebody is talking loudly right next to you. Nope, I don't like that.
I don’t miss any of that, Not one bit
I’m glad it’s working well for you! For me, the quiet and control over my environment at home helped my productivity. Being back in the office has been an adjustment, and I’m not quite there yet.
Nice try, bot
You won’t catch me admitting it, but I do kind of like being back. It should also be mentioned that I live very close to the office and don’t have a 3 hour commute, which a lot of people now do.
I have been reading all your posts and I feel alot of your frustration. Alittle back story I'm 47 now and i have been running heavy equipment since my early 20s I made okay money averaged about 20 -25 hr as I progressed wages went up until about 4 yrs ago I landed a union job a dream job making alittle over 57 an hr and just under 240k a yr BUT it was a remote Job basically in the middle of nowhere I would stay away from home for months at a time, I missed birthdays, anniversaries, funerals basically miss the life that you planned with your wife mental health was not good at times lol Christmas was the only time they valued, in 2023 I was home 3 times 5 days at a time 2 of those days were travel days to and from. In the middle of 2023 my wife got sick they found blood clots riddled through her lungs , I know what you thinking lung cancer but it's not neither one of us smoke hardly drink for that matter but she isnt doing good we are still battling multiple doctor appointments and blood thinners and she is on a scope of things not gonna get into it, anyway the project ended at the end of August 2024. I put myself through that shit for my family and to better my skills and to have the experience to do that work at home with normal work hrs, not be told by a union ya there's no more work for you right now so you have to get a different job I have applied for 64 different companies most of my applications were viewed by the employer but no call backs I have received 3 call backs and 2 were low ballers offering between 18 - 22 hr the 3rd I did take they promised me hrs it's between 27 - 30 an/hr but they cut my wages to 8 hrs a day and I'm literally sitting I'm my car at that job right now I was supposed to start at 7 am but they have no work for me . It's weird I have literally been to hell and back to do the job I picked and I'm sitting at a landfill for 8 hrs a day watching a person with 1 week of experience in a machine that I have operated longer than he has been alive, sorry for the vent lol I just feel the frustration aswell.
Never had the luxury of working from home, always in operations. I worked as an outside contractor inside another company's facility. We were given a desk that was the "door", but we were treated like 3rd class people. I then worked from home answering calls all day, at all hours. Now that everyone is migrating back to the office the company I worked for is losing business like crazy, probably 60% less where it was in 2021. So, I got let go. I saw it coming. Unethical coworkers sharing salary info. I was making more than my boss since I came from CA, and had received significant raises during my 4 years there. He barely worked with me a year and decided I "would be happier somewhere else". That was right before Thanksgiving. Still looking. I've had lots of interviews. I've been looking even below the position I had at my last job, no luck. Hate it.
I absolutely love being home because I get more work done than I do at work.
I am looking for a job but nobody will employ me because I suffer from epilepsy I have epilepsy for 20 years

People who love being forced to go into the office every day are the minority. Everyone in the office here are complaining. It’s fine for once a month or once a week, but my co-workers and I can agree we accomplish more from home than we do in the office.
