Any advice for a corporate senior associate who has realized too late they really dislike being a deal lawyer (fund formation practice without regulatory experience)? I am thinking about how I can try to shift my practice but feel a bit lost.

I am an 11-yr lawyer who is shifting from litigation to transactional. It’s easiest if you’re in a firm that has multiple different departments so you can synch up with one of the other practice groups and work your way in. It definitely helps if you have or develop relationships with others in the groups you want to work with. If you don’t have a bunch of different practice groups at your office, I’d say it’s much harder if you switch firms because they will expect you to go in as you are or treat you as a first year if you switch practices. But you could always start out at a new firm in your area and slowly switch over.

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.

If you put your two weeks notice in, are you obligated to show up? I told my friend, yeah, of course unless your agency asks you leave. Right?

I'm receiving an offer this week for a role as an integrations delivery manager. Does anyone have salary insight around a role such as this?
I honestly have no idea what I might be offered, hence my post, because there's too many variances posted online. I have cross experience in my role now, and have been with the company 7 years now. Just a different business unit and position title I'm unfamiliar with

Looking to transition out of Management Consulting and going into big tech in NYC. Ideally, I would love to go in as a PMM; however I’ve heard it’s very difficult to make that jump if you don’t have a degree in engineering or CS (I’m a liberal arts graduate and in the final year of a part-time mba). Should I look to apply as a program manager role since it’s more likely my consulting experience will apply to that and see if I can transition into a PMM role from there?
