I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. When you budget for your engagements, what percentage of staff time is your budgeted manager time? I have always heard manager time should be about 50% of staff time but now leadership is pushing back. I have found the 50% to reflect reality.
