Tech in-house. I’m on my second cushy job.
LinkedIn, set alerts for in-house, there are new postings every day. It is easier to find a hybrid job, but at worst it is strictly 9-5 and at best they don’t care when you come and go. Look for companies that are based or have offices in Europe, they are often in early and out early because of the time difference, are remote work friendly, and have good WLB culture.
Running your own firm would let you set your own hours and make your own schedule.
I would prefer this, but don’t have 12-24 months of income saved while i wait for cases to settle.
Maybe private practice in an easier area?
Reduced schedule private practice, if you can swing it
I’m at 60% (based on 2000 hrs), so 1200 target. Salary is prorated. I’m a senior associate so ends up being mid-200s base + bonus (varies). Has been great for me so far.
I just read on another post here that somebody seeking WLB is working in insurance defense and is almost fully remote and making $225k/yr. I wish I had saved the post for you! Also check out contract document review jobs. Each job may be less flexible hours but you can choose how many and which jobs you take for some level of flexibility.
FYI I’ve heard doc review jobs pay very little, in case salary is an issue! (I think maybe $1000/week). You and you kiddo(s) might need more in this economy🤮
I’m sorry this is happening. You’re a great mom. You got this!! I would say, big law on a reduced schedule (for the right team). —- you can TECHNICALLY work less and still get paid more money. And they are typically 3 days in office.
