Hey guys, I’ve recently started interviewing for a position outside my firm. I was wondering who makes the decision to hire? Is it the interviewers (MD’s, VP’s, analysts) or is it the recruiter that reached out to me who gets the final say? I’m crushing it with the directors, Vp’s but not really talking too much sith the recruiter. Please help
Looking for a Project Finance/Infrastructure job in London at the Senior Associate or AD/VP level. No luck applying direct to the usual suspects (French and Spanish giants). Any headhunters who specialize in the space I should be aware of?
How are forecasting roles (think ph2 to pre-launch) perceived in industry? My goal would be to have good WLB with the chance to move up to maybe vp level one day Also interviewing for corp strategy and corp dev roles but seems like wlb would be meaningfully worse in those roles. Is a lateral move to one of these roles doable from forecasting?
Anyone work at Bain, BCG, or McKinsey? I’m trying to pivot from big4 audit manager to accounting advisory (eventually aspire to be CFO/VP), but finding it hard to figure out where to start since the titles are a bit different from public accounting. Any advice on applying/trying to get an interview?
Interview next week for a fintech VP role (real VP reporting to CEO, not the fake traditional finance VP titles) and have no idea what target salary should be. Glassdoor is all over the place. Trying to crowdsource a reasonable number.
I have a interview with JP Morgan.. One 45 mins interview followed by a 30 mins with VP. What can be expected. This is for servicenow developer.
Recently went through 6 rounds of interviews for a role I'm very qualified for. After the final interview with the VP, I was told that the job went to someone else because she "had a little more CPG experience." After 6+ hours of interviews, and that being the only feedback, does the given reason feel accurate, or just being nice? How likely did I just botch something in the final interview and they're being non-specific?
Manager in audit currently . I had a job interview for an industry position that was very easy. It was more like the VP selling me on the company rather than him interviewing me. Is this a red flag
Guess a con. firm: Went through the HR screen, three case studies/tests, three interviews with leadership (eg dir/par/vp/md) got a call from HR straight after the final one saying they have excellent feedback and they want to progress to make me an offer but need to get approvals and find me the right team, ghosted me for more than a month after which I chased recruiter who says that they unfortunately won't be coming with an offer with some bs about not being able to find me the right team.
Is Director to CIO in industry too big of a leap? I have not received a single interview call, have been applying to VP/CIO level roles and thinking I need to reconsider.
If a hiring VP asks to do a video call in 30 minutes (finished 6 interview rounds), should I do suit/tie or is polo acceptable?
Hi 🐠 fam - I have final round interviews with the VP/SVPs of the function (Skip level interviews). What are some good questions to ask when you're interviewing with leaders at this level? Thank you!!
Any suggestions on good interview questions to ask a corporate VP? A lot of my go to questions aren’t really appropriate and I am drawing blank. Thank you!!
Has anyone interviewed & received an offer from NY Life for a VP strategy & consulting role? I've seen job postings and trying to figure out salary range before applying. Glassdoor indicates $110-225k and LinkedIn range was $150-290k so too big to be helpful
Any idea of the comp range for svp / vp levels at salesforce? Done with the interviews and taking to recruiter next week on next steps. Negotiations are about to begin... so far was told that they will pay well and talk details when the time comes.
What’s the comp range for Svp / vp levels at salesforce? Did interviews and will be talking to recruiter next week.
What should I expect for a VP PE interview? It would be a lateral move, currently a VP at another firm. I obviously understand how to navigate the Associate interview but not sure what to expect in a lateral and there’s not much chatter online about it.
Anyone have insight into what a VP interview for a PE role entails? Currently a VP on buyside, not sure what to expect and there isn’t much chatter online about it
Interview question at the end of case study; You have a meeting next week with both the VP of direct to consumer (online) and VP of stores. How do you prepare for it?
What do you think of applying for different senior level positions (SD/VP) at the same company? They are completely in a different area but I have enough experiences to tweak my resume and make it sound like I’m a good candidate for both. It’s relatively a small company (~500 employees). I’m afraid doing so would make me look like a generalist or I’m fabricating my background, especially since at this level, they look for a SME.
Massively messed up a timed modeling case today. Wasn’t even able to finish in the allotted time... The VP I’m interviewing with is super nice though, so is it worth it to take a second stab at it and send him the finished version asking for feedback? Do you think that could salvage the situation or should I just take my losses?
If moving from a large company to a start up as a sr director applying for VP roles, what’s the expectation in comp/ote? Should it be comparable, more, less, salary wise? And what kind of equity should one expect?
How is SAP SDC for SAP Consultants? I have offers from CG, IBM & SAP India. So, please suggest which will be better to join. PS- IBM is paying100% more than my current organisation. SAP has not released my offer yet but I had an interview with VP and he said he is impressed with me and will release the offer letter soon but they have not negotiated for my salary. But he was saying if he will give me less than IBM then will I join the SAP or not? I assumed this is a trick ques., btw, I said yes
Hi folks, tomorrow i’ll have my last round of interviews for a leadership role at a really cool startup. The interview is with the VP. My question for you all is: what questions should I ask the VP so he thinks I’m smart? (; Thanks in advance!
Am I overthinking this? Had a final interview today with a VP and it only lasted 30 min. She only ended up asking me two questions. The other rounds of interviews were all an hour long.
I'm interviewing for a VP Account Director position in NYC with 10 years of experience. What's an appropriate salary?
Moved to industry. I have a catch-up session with VP that interviewed & hired me this week. What are some questions I should ask him? I was thinking about projects coming down the pipeline, where we are with a certain major project, and goals for 2021. I don’t know what else to talk about or if those topics are even good? I do want to know the answers to these questions
Have a super day next week that aligns horribly with meetings that I will certainly be noted for missing. Super day will take the entire afternoon. In all likeliness, my VP will have to cover all the work that I’ll certainly miss with short deadlines. Can’t move the interviews. What would you do?
I am beginning the interview process with AlixPartners this week. It’s for a VP position in their Enterprise Improvement practice. I’ve heard all about their personality test and IQ test. I really want to know more about their case interviews. How are they structured? Are they heavy with quantitative questions? Any additional details would really be appreciated!
I really want to have a career in turnaround & restructuring consulting. But how can I continue now? I have been rejected by AlixPartners (VP role) and Alvarez & Marsal (Internship). I never heard from FTI and BRG after applying. I have no idea how to continue now. Anyone has any insights or tips?
What's your typical first round VC interview like? I have a 30 minute interview with a VP at a late-stage VC firm - I'm just 1.5 years out of UG, and have done some PE prep - is it at all similar?
Job opportunity (mgr title, 4-6 yr exp needed) in Internal Audit (w/ data analytics exposure) at one of the largest private companies in Chicago. I interviewed with them (director and vp) till last round and decided to pursue a different opportunity. Great and caring people who seems to support what you wanna do at this position. Since it’s private there is a lot of room to create and build from the best practice. lmk if you are interested or know someone needs help. Thanks!

I recently had 2 interviews at an organization and just got a rejection email but I’m pretty confused. I’ve received plenty of rejection emails but this one doesn’t make sense to me. I had an initial interview with the VP of HR and it went really well, the recruiter emailed me within minutes of the interview ending telling me he already heard from the VP about how great she thought I was. The second interview was with the team manager. (Cont.)

I’m SO stoked about a new position I just accepted, smart interview, great work and 40k extra pay. But most comments on here and glassdoor say the place kinda sucks. Am I dense to be worried?
Nothing sucks more than going on an interview(s), thinking you did well, and then not hearing from the company for weeks. Having to write off a company you really liked is so sad

We just experienced our first meltdown with 2 kids under 2. We scheduled back to back dr appts for me and our toddler so my husband had to drive and bring everyone. However my appt was running late so my husband had to also bring the baby to the toddler appt. Baby was fussy and cried. Toddler decided to be clingy, did not want to walk and wanted to be carried. My poor husband had to wheel a crying baby and while trying to balance a toddler throwing a tantrum to the doctor’s office where they...

Met a Wharton guy yesterday, he said I should change jobs at least once before applying since most of his classmates did more than 1 job. He recommended going to a startup for at least 1 year. I'm not sure since I feel like I've done many different "jobs" in consulting with different projects. Thoughts?

My husband and I have been consistently underwhelmed with our nanny. She’s great with the baby but mostly ignores our toddler is always being late, leaves the house a mess, and goes totally rogue with the toddlers meals and constantly feeding him unhealthy food even when we plan very specific meals for him. Because of that, we are considering enrolling them in daycare/school in January. 1. Am I crazy to do this in the middle of a global pandemic? 2. How do I tell the nanny?
