Some balls are meant to be dropped (they can/will bounce back), others can’t be dropped (consider them glass). When times are tough, bounce what you can and prioritize the glass ones (health, your kid, your family).
Also- in these tougher times we outsource or “press the easy button” where possible- ie: order food, or get help/services when you are in a pinch to keep yourselves afloat.
You’ve got this 💪
I like the ball analogy. I use a broken plate analogy for when people break your trust. Sure the plate can be glued back together (with a genuine “I’m sorry”) but at some point it can’t be and is thrown in the trash.
Everything, everywhere is already alright. My hs principal used to say that and I didn’t get it back then. Now I do lol.
You are strong, you are resilient, this is temporary, it’s been done before, you got this.
My mantra is "This too shall pass." Your child isn't going to be teething/sick forever, and your work isn't always going to be crazy. Getting through it makes you realize that you're stronger than you ever imagined. You got this! ❤️
“You’re gonna miss this…”

🤣 I kid. But it is temporary and the good outweighs the bad 10x over. Take it in strides and it’s okay to let things drop. The house doesn’t have to be spotless and a week or two of takeout dinners won’t hurt.
It’s simple - fuck it
I remind myself this is temporary. One day I'll sleep more, but today is not that day.
But also, anything that can take a backseat does. Dirty dishes, f*ck it and try using more paper plates until I catch up. Toddler tornado got crumbs all over the kitchen floor? It'll be there tomorrow.
I do what I can bare to do, but everybody surviving the day is the most important.
I learned to become very tolerant of a mess and paper plates is a stable w little kids
Thank you all! I needed this :-)
The other one I heard from a friend - “if parenting is hard, it means you’re a good parent” because bad parents usually don’t realize they’re in fact bad
Everything is a season and the only way out is through
It’s temporary and it is.
This too will pass, this too will pass… it can’t last forever lol
Its only temporary and I am grateful for all that comes my way. It will only make me stronger and I am thankful for the little moments. We are alive, healthy and everyone in my family is good, so I am thankful that I am able to have these little problems. Think big picture, and you will be fine. Give yourself grace and maybe take a 20 mins break to be focus on you and reflect on the good things in life.
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
I will sing and move. Our brains are funny…. song, movement plus words will regulate our mood. It works great with kiddos. As adults we forget about this trick.
