I fly United 40-60 flights a year. Between the 25% back on in-flight purchases (also usually expensed to the firm) and the travel credit, I make money with the United Quest.
That plus some of the Saver availability for credit card members (may also get this due to status but I’m fuzzy on the details) make it a no brainer for me.
The 100k miles + 3k PQP SUB also made it worth it in and of itself 😉

There are multiple United cards. At the end of the day it's just a math problem. Do you value the perks (checked bags, lounges, etc) at enough above the annual fee to be worth it? I rarely fly United and have better lounge access, so the perks are worth nothing to me, but a frequent United flyer would feel differently.
Obviously pretty much any card is worth it in year 1 with the SUB, so you can always reassess after 12 months. With Chase cracking down on credit lending, personally I think there are better Chase cards to target, but YMMV.
FM1….thanks for sharing…which cards do you like with Chase?
I have the club card. Worth it for me just for the access when I travel with friends or family. I do at least 1 family and 1 friends trip/year. I don’t know if it’s because I’m 1k and/or because I have the card but they never give me a hassle about guests coming in with me. I’ve gotten 5 or 6 guests into the lounge for free on multiple occasions. That alone makes it worth it for me
Personally I don’t find it worth it since I never check a bag & don’t arrive early enough at the airport to hang out at the lounge. Worth doing for the bonus but I downgraded to the free card after
This might be my move. Depends on the year whether or not I fly a lot with them
I have the explorer card which is their lowest annual fee card. It gives me 25% back on wifi and tie breaker upgrades which with the amount I travel (150 segments a year) likely gets me a couple extra upgrades a year. Worth it for me.
I fly United 60-100x segments per year.
I find the lounge access worthwhile when I have a connection, when I’m traveling with family, or on the rare occasions I get there early enough.
The mileage discounts and extra availability are helpful when booking with miles.
worth it for the free check in and eliminating the basic economy restrictions. + miles
