I was once at a dinner with a second year analyst, consultant, and partner, and the analyst said he planned on retiring by 30 and the partner and consultant laughed. What are folks thoughts on nuclear power? I have heard there are many detractors. Before getting into consulting, I was trained to operate a nuclear power plant on a submarine and learned about this excellent source of energy.

The main issues I see with it are the initial upfront costs to setup (with the cheapest generation costs thereafter), and disposal of nuclear waste (which some new technologies are being developed to reuse the waste in a different kind of reactor).
