How long does the firm give a first year staff before they consider firing her for performance?

Hi all! I work at a nonprofit and am looking to leave the organization. As I browse available positions in my area, I’m realizing there is a LOT of crossover between my current org and others, for example shared board members, folks who are on our board and employed at one of the institutions I’m interested in, etc.. Is there a way to say “my current org doesn’t know I’m looking, so please treat my interest with discretion” that doesn’t raise red flags? Thanks!

Feeling really overwhelmed and wondering if anyone else has struggled with something similar: I’ve been with the same company for about three years and I feel like it’s time for a change of pace.
