Yep. Did all the longer stuff on the weekend. An hour on weekdays; ran to or from work sometimes to save time.
Yep. But going home is easier
Same as A1. Daylight hours during weekends was training time. I also swam during lunch hour, ran in the morning.
It’s hard, and I did a half. I swam in the morning before work and tried to run at lunchtime. Didn’t ride as often as I wanted to or should’ve. But finding the hours to train, work, and parent ain’t easy. Very much a jigsaw puzzle to fit it in and have to give yourself grace when something inevitably falls off (which, for me, was always the training).
I’ve done several since starting practice. True it was easier in my first career, and much easier in a student schedule in law school, but it’s very feasible in practice too, especially if you’re a morning person. I am simply not available from ~5:45am to 7/7:30am. I don’t carry my phone with me when I run. No one at either firm I’ve worked for has ever had a problem with that, and frankly being offline for 45-90 minutes every day is very important to my mental health.
I also bike 8 miles to work 4 days/week, which keeps my in shape and means I have the absolute best commute in my office. 8 miles isn’t much, I go light on the way in and don’t get too sweaty or anything. Depending on how the day went, I can put a lot of rage into those pedals on the way home.
