New Teachers

Anyone else have a teacher at your school who just seems to have something against new teachers? All of my other colleagues are so nice but there’s one teacher who is just always grumpy toward me...

Ive been there. Try not to take it personally. It sounds like just a miserable person- try not to speculate or project why. Sometimes veteran teachers are suspicious and territorial of the newbies’ intentions or think of them as a threat or competition or just different. If you work with this person closely, things might change as the person gets to know you. All you can do is be civil and be yourself. Good luck!

I am in the same boat! And agree with Pennsylvania High School 1-That has been my way to deal, the other teachers are too, to an extent. I am carrying on but the added frustration and stress it brings is beginning to weigh me down.

Long-term Big Law attorneys who haven't succumbed to burnout: how do you cope with working virtually everyday? I already eat healthy and exercise. I just want to know what I can do to ensure that I am able to maintain my velocity. My days have blurred together at this point from working everyday. My billables are great (+/- 200 hours/month). I'm getting good reviews. I just don't want to end up burning out in a year or two. Thank you!

I cheated (emotionally) on my SO and we are going through a break up. It’s really rough. I truly love him and I know I should leave him alone and move on. We had a tumultuous relationship at the end but I can’t stop feeling so bad and guilty. Ugghhh.

Thoughts on Partners never being at clients. They just show their faces when they want to sell something. In other firms (specially the reputable ones MCK, BCG, Big4) partners are delivering.
