I want to get into Genentech, SF area. I am Empower Admin/Expert.
I don't know what's the latest policy but I went from GENE to Roche, and back. Moving from Gene to Roche was easier for me but returning back was a challenge to find the roles relevant. In my experience moving to Roche or any other company within the Roche group is easier and a new contract with new benefits (I moved to Basel) was required. However, returning back to GENE was way harder. Most of the folks in Roche tend to move to other organizations when their current roles ain't working and they want to buy some immunity to layoffs.
Would you say it was worth it?
Rumor is that people like to be at Genentech for stability since it is harder to fire people for incompetence lol.
Can anyone share salary ranges for a "Manufacturing Technician Specialist" at Roche in New Jersey?
Genentech is Pharma and Roche is Dia. There is a big difference in compensation between the two, which does not transfer. Pharma roles are generally paid more for the same level roles than dia. Transitioning is hard in both directions because business is different and the skill sets are slightly different. It does happen, but its difficult.
