Not in southern CA but the work is the same everywhere - there are a lot of posts on here on the nature of the work. Most big4 FDD practices will look to hire people with a minimum of 3 years of audit experience. In normal times jumping firms is your best bet to accelerate making the transition, but I would be very surprised if anyone is hiring right now. Almost everyone was basically at 20% utilization at best for March-May/June. Deal volumes have picked back up in the past weeks but it will take at least a quarter or two of sustained activity to get leadership teams comfortable with adding headcount given that the current concern is getting through Covid without headcount reductions.
Makes sense! Thanks

TAS is very slow right now. There was a stat on CNBC that the last quarter was the lowest M&A activity since 1998
Not sure any firms would be hiring given the amount of availability on the existing team
Not in So Cal but I'll echo what EY2 said. I'm in the PwC FDD group, SE. Was pretty much dead mid March through April. Have had pick up since May and been pretty busy these last few weeks but you still have some individuals that are completely unassigned. Until everyone is back to a solid workload I don't see them lifting the hiring freeze.
