From BIG4 but no CPA raises major questions. Are you not smart, dedicated, or forward-thinking enough to get it?
Why would a hiring manager choose you over someone with a CPA?
It's really not that difficult to get, and is more useful as a signal of your competence/hardwork than anything else.
For top MBAs, they have quotas and want different backgrounds, CPA is favorable as it puts you in the accounting bucket. With FDD, you are probably at the top of the accounting bucket.

You will need a CPA in fdd most likely to get to manager. If you truly want to do strategy work, your time is better spent studying for the gmat and getting into a top business school in order to transition into strategy work.
Well it helps to have it in fdd but if you want to do strategy then you’re probably in the wrong function. FDD is backward looking and accounting based
Even though it's not required to have CPA, it is good to have it. All of our campus hires are studying for it even though you need it because you are still an accountant and if you cannot pass the exam, you are shown as less qualified as someone who has it. Simple.
Shouldn’t you be thinking about CFA*?
