Didn't we have this same conversation at lunch yesterday -- and every other day in the past five years? If you aren't one of the invisible superheroes in casualty claims, I guess it's "good" to know we aren't the only ones being hit with a hammer and ordered to say "Thank you, can I have a few more licks please."
Absurd workloads seem to be the standard these days. Companies across the board are obsessed with cutting costs and squeezing more work out of fewer workers, all to come up with numbers to that effect at quarterly earnings calls. It may sound good to Wall Street, but it really turns into a grind for people forced to constantly do more with less. Eventually people do burn out and leave, and ultimately it's the kind of brutal business model that's unsustainable.
