As a manager, do you appreciate when your analysts use AI to help automate tasks and make tasks easier? Our agency seems to appreciate and encourage the use of AI, but I can't tell if my manager likes it when I use AI. Do you think there should be higher pay for those who can use AI more adeptly than those who cannot?

Question about remote job negotiations

I'm currently interviewing for a remote role for a company based in NY.

The thing is I'm based in a different city (southern U.S.)

My question is:

When it comes time to talk compensation, should I base the market rate for the role on my city of residence or NY?

Would it make sense to ask them directly how they determine comp for NY-bases vs. other city-based employees?
