Welcome to job hunting in 2025; everything is awful. I have never seen a job market like this. You may be qualified, but so are the 100 other people who applied for the job. If the rejections are always automatic, then you might want to look into making your resume more ATS-friendly to give yourself a better chance. Do expect to put out hundreds of resumes before getting anywhere though.
I think part of it is that people are using AI to filter out resumes so auto-rejections are going out. I wish companies would move away from using AI to reviews resumes. I just think it rejects good candidates.
I need a job please
I had to ask AI to simplify my resume . Which helped a lot with job offers. Due to the same reasons as you . “Being over qualified “
It's definitely not a great scene out there. As the other person said, be sure your resume is ATS friendly (no weird fonts or graphics, no pictures, just plain Jane). Try leaning into networking more than just cold applications. Or if you do send an online app, hit up your network to see if you have any connections - even tangential ones - that might allow you to get a real human to lay eyes on your application.
Welcome to our world
Being over qualified for the job will also get you cut. Being overqualified is not necessarily a good thing. Have your resume show you are qualified. If you have to cut things that make you over qualified for a certain position, so just that.
