Hi ! I have gotten an offer via email for what I believe is level 9 data visualization specialist in the dc area. I have a masters and 3.5 years of consulting experience. I’ve gotten an initial offer and trying to get some context on what the range is for this and whether I should push for more or accept. I'm trying to figure out how to pivot out of my current job. My department is in utter chaos, which has just become completely unmanageable. I have a “commitment to an offer” at 150-170k from a BB. They said they can’t give me the offer until Feb/March until they ramp up their current hires and figure out their budget, but the HM said the best thing I can do is to get another offer to use as leverage.

I’m about to receive an offer from a different company at 100-115k. Would much rather work at the BB (better company/position). Is it even worth me bringing this offer to use as leverage, or is the salary discrepancy too much?
