Hm. I'm more extroverted than introverted, but I've never really thought about or felt the need to be more assertive at work. People listen to me when I have something to say. Did something in particular happen that made you feel like you need to be more assertive?

I guess it depends on your job title within the company. If I were a manager, others would be listening to what I have to say more. I’m also a soft spoken person, so that doesn’t help either. In general, we all take the time to listen to each other but when you are introvert I believe we tend to get looked over by certain people.
What I have learned is the more you flex the muscle of being assertive, the easier it becomes. Start with something small and then work up to the bigger things. You have a voice and it is more than okay to use it.

Thank you for that advice. I know practice makes it better for me to assertive. So, I will do it little by little. It’s not really my thing but I will try it out. Something being assertive can lead people respecting what you have to say.
I’ve always struggled with being a shy introvert. Sometimes I get comfortable in a situation. But I still revert to my introverted self when I’m dealing with a difficult customer or someone from leadership.
