I’m not sure about that. I think if I spent over 15 years in one industry and I was only earning $55,000 a year I would feel pretty bad about it. I think if you’re going to put multiple decades in an industry, you should be earning at least 60 to 70 something a year.

I definitely agree with you. That’s is why job hopping is so important. It gives you the room to make more money than staying at your job for several years. I agree that we should be making at least $65k a year.
If you think about the physical, mental, and psychological cost of working in retail, I think we should be making more like $60,000 a year, not the $30,000 a year most of us are making. It really is a lot of work!

I agree you with. We put a lot of work working in retail. We should at least get paid $65k instead of the regular $45k. It’s a total slap in the face when they offer that low of an income for us.
