I think it's a good start. I don't think it's worth paying a financial planner until you have some more assets and investments though. Do you own properties? I think you could do more than bare minimum for the 401k and work up to owning property and then start talking to a planner
Unfortunately, a 401(k) match is not enough these days to retire comfortably in your 60s. You're going to need to save a lot more than that. I would definitely look into seeing a financial advisor if you can, I started seeing one and he has helped a lot.
I max out my 401k as well and I think its the best thing you can do. I do think talking to a financial planner is a good idea though. I need to do the same honestly.
