Been maxing out the 401k match for years without really thinking about it. But I'm almost 30 and starting to think about my future finances. Does being more mindful of my 401k make me a financially responsible adult, or is this just the bare minimum I should be doing? Maybe I need to talk to a financial planner. lol!

I think it's a good start. I don't think it's worth paying a financial planner until you have some more assets and investments though. Do you own properties? I think you could do more than bare minimum for the 401k and work up to owning property and then start talking to a planner

Unfortunately, a 401(k) match is not enough these days to retire comfortably in your 60s. You're going to need to save a lot more than that. I would definitely look into seeing a financial advisor if you can, I started seeing one and he has helped a lot.

I max out my 401k as well and I think its the best thing you can do. I do think talking to a financial planner is a good idea though. I need to do the same honestly.

Maxing out is great, but try to save more. Your future self will thank you.

A new analyst has joined our team and we often give them models/ slides but don’t always ask them if they know all of the accounting principles to be able to make minute adjustments to EBITDA or free cash flow. We are a FIG platform, so the knowledge required is relatively unique as well and not as easy to google as corporate transactions. Is there a better way to coach the analyst short of just throwing them in the deep end to figure it out or should we wait for them to ask us for help?

Has anyone ever worked at an agency in which the project management department was properly utilized? I traditionally was brought up in my career where PM type tasks were handled by lower level AMs. I have observed separating AM and PM tasks into two separate departments just causes communication issues and lazy account people. Account people should have a good understanding of how much effort and time goes into a project. Project Managers are missing a lot of context so blind leading blind.
