Interesting. I would expect to have the emergency account available for immediate spend if truly needed, not tied to the schedule of the market or transaction settlement schedules if you had to liquidate something.
Synchrony bank, 6 months living expenses. Thought point of emergency fund was money available in case of an emergency? Don't understand investing it. This isn't for retirement or capital gains, and want to be able to pull out quickly
This needs to be liquid and low risk, so I just have mine in an interest bearing bank account
Just bank account
I don't get paid enough to have an emergency savings fund. 😭
I'm doing like 6 months in an ally account (1.25%), but I feel like missing out on market gains.
https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/fund/vmmxx. I have been testing this is out for my emergency fund
20k in bank accounts
I found this interesting: Betterment actually recommends investors put their emergency funds in a portfolio with between 30 percent and 50 percent in stocks and the rest in a diversified allocation of bonds. Most Betterment clients have a 40 percent allocation to stocks in their emergency funds and the robo-advisor uses low-cost stock and bond exchange-traded funds to create those portfolios.
Yeah, in that article they say to invest 130% of your emergency savings to account for any market fluctuations.. I may consider this. Was talking to someone about it today

D1, the fund returns seems to be below 1%.
