I never contribute to this stuff but I must step in here - Baxters of California clay pomade is truly life changing. Highly recommend.
Definitely second EY2. Aveda clay has been the best. But my main goal is : product that uses the least harmful chemicals, matte finished look, hair looking as if I’m not wearing any product.
You need to know the hair you have and what’s your style.
Reuzel
Got2b
Hanz de fuko claymation
But also depends on what type of style you're trying to achieve. That helps you know whether you need pomade, clay, wax, etc.
Reuzel fiber pomade.
Moroccan Oil Molding Cream, just discovered it this past weekend and it is awesome. Easy to tussle around and matte finish
Conditioner
Second Reuzel
Baxter def
Avesta grooming clay is great for simultaneously giving you good hold but also feeling clean enough to run your hand through your hair
Everyone in this thread is sleeping on Hanz de Fuko!! Basically same price as Baxter products, completely organic ingredients with no harmful chemicals, and honestly life changing in terms of styling effectiveness. They have a whole range but the claymation is a mix between wax and clay.
(I feel like a brand ambassador but this stuff is amazing)
I use Jojoba wax. It’s water based so it can be touched up with a little water if need be but it’s what every barber recommends.
Aveda Grooming Clay. Has a good medium hold but without the crusty crackly feel, and a matte (not shiny) finish
Sauvecito. Firm if you have coarse hair.
Malin + Goetz Sage Styling cream
I use crew pomade
Gatsby Pink
The Grooming Lounge hair cream is great if want to style your hair but have it look like there’s no product in it
