Yeah I don’t have a ton of experience in interviewing in PE ops, but they were genuinely looking for the same performance as the deal teem.
Rest assured, there are more than enough applicants for any MM+ firm to only pick from the top performing consultants *if they want*.

That’s probably fine. You’ll never know until you go for it. It’ll help to have a unique story to sell. What experience do you have around enterprise value creation in the industries that the funds you’re targeting focus on?
Assume everyone you’d compete against will look like a “fast rising” junior. Personally, a top tier candidate from T2 vs MBB means very little. Even B4 could be competitive with really strong industry + project fit + top percentile performance. I also prefer to hire those who have spent some amount of time in industry in hands on execution roles
Thanks. Yeah, will def have to focus on what the differentiation story is - for me that’s implementation experience + strong, consistent sector focus on software/tech
