Has anyone had a nurse state the assumed sex at 12 week ultrasound? The nurse is fairly sure it's a boy, and I'm wondering how accurate her guess is based on a close look of the genitals. Confirmation won't happen until 20 week appt, too far away!

As accurate as her years of experience I would think. I also don’t think she should have said anything though.

In her defense, she first asked if I planned on finding out the sex. I said yes, then she asked me if I wanted to know what she thought the sex is, and of course said yes!

Ultrasound tech told me my first was a boy at 9 weeks 😱 and she was very right. And she didn’t ask, just blurted it out 😂

funny

This happened to me at week 12 ! I was like oh ok!

Are you doing a NIPT test? My tech told me it was a boy but only after I said I was finding out with the NIPT. My friend had a tech tell her the wrong gender at 12 weeks so I think they just want to be careful

I did my NIPT at 11 weeks and it had the sex listed

Yes. Said it was a boy, blood test confirmed, anatomy scan doubled confirmed lol

Are you taking NIPT? That can be done as early as 10 weeks and 99% accurate for sex among all the chromosomal abnormalities it tests for.

Isn’t it easy for boys? It is just sticking out there if ultrasound angle is correct 😅. I could see something too on my 12th week ultrasound in between baby’s legs but did not ask the tech and Nipt confirmed it’s a boy.

Both male and female embryos have external genitalia at this stage in development, though, which is weird af and makes it less clear cut. The “angle” of the fetal pole tends to be the deciding factor.

Way easier for boys lol sometimes if baby is very still - it’s pretty easy to tell! If you want to know earlier you can do NIPT or Sneak Peek

This happened to me my week 20 scan still is still 5 weeks away. Tech said it was a boy and I could see it too, so I’m thinking it will be…

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. This year I’ve crushed it and switched up projects off of ones that I’ve long been on. The few people who “advocate” for me seem to be stuck on things that seem either 1) so unsubstantiated and show that they are too far detached from the …

Just wanted to know do they really keeps stuff confidential or can they inform my Manager regarding the personal conversations.

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?
