I have a 5-year-old and we recently moved in with my boyfriend (40s, divorced, no kids). He’s trying, which I appreciate, but he has very little patience or tolerance for a rambunctious kid. I found using GoFormative’s free version to be very helpful in teaching new topics to my students. I embed videos I make demonstrating how to complete a question, next I ask them to complete an example showing work, and then the next question they type their answer so it automatically alerts them to see if they answered correctly. It can be used live in a meet and on an independent virtual day. In my google meets, I’m able to give feedback on any question they have trouble with in real time.

I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade supplemental math. I want to use pencil / paper this year, because I feel my kids didn't do as well online. I don't mind using it occasionally but want to utilize interactive notebooks. Does anyone else feel this way about math or have suggestions?

What’s your opinion on math homework? I teach 4th grade and have always given it but I’d like to see what others do and weigh out if it’s really worth it. If I give it, I feel like I should spend class time going over it but on the other hand I stress myself out trying to keep the absent work organized and those that don’t even do the work.

I have students that need to make up a missing test. I want to keep the integrity and validity of a test.
