Bain & Company Can anyone from Bain & Company Toronto / Montreal share their experience! Are the cases comparable to Bain US offices? Also, do people get staffed on cases in the US? How easy/hard is it to transition to a US office later on?

Pretty bad advice. You can always have a medium term goal and that can be a different practice /different location / other things.

Just make sure the short term choices that you take enable you to get to the next step of where you want to be (literally and figuratively)

I’m obviously at BCG but had an offer from Bain and they made it very clear it’d be very hard to transfer offices. That was between toronto and a US office

Hello! I am currently temping at my current job and have been asked to work a weekend conference (Thursday-Sunday). I also have a small puppy and I’ll need to pay for doggie daycare for her during those days. Is it too much to ask the company to reimburse me for the boarding/daycare costs?

Thanks!

I realized a slow pace at work is really bad for me. A couple years ago I was experiencing burn out from my fast paced job supporting transactions, and believed by moving to a slower job in a lower cost area, I would be sailing off to the sunset. Wrong, I spend weeks following up with other teams, often times they forgot what we discussed, so I spent 50% if the time reminding them of the topics and next steps. I spend most of my time writing memos no one will read.
