When switching firms. Is it better to switch into an area you’re interested in or an area you have experience in? I hate the area I’m in now but don’t want to have to start all over again. Or should I just try to speak to my internal work or general knowledge and skills in the new area?

You only have one life... do something you like. I’m sure if you’re starting over in an area you like you’ll enjoy it much more

like

Perfect timing. Just kidding, but seriously, why would you do something you don’t enjoy even if you have to wait longer to move up? You don’t have the skills yet so that makes sense. Head over heart?

Why are you switching firms? Usually, firm switchers either lateral for a new/better kind of work or maybe they leave for a promo for the same kind of work they did before.

My recommendation: go for the type of work you want to do, but make sure it is aligned with your longer term goals.

Bro do something you really love.

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.

So here are my questions.

How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.

When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in advance!
