How hard it it to change practice areas if I start as a patent prosecution associate? Curious about doing patent litigation or non-patent IP stuff (trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, etc.), but also curious about other non-IP practice areas (tech transactions, antitrust, capital markets, real estate, entertainment, bird law, etc.). Is such a shift possible, or am I doomed to practice before the USPTO for the rest of my career?

Met with CEO of a boutique firm to discuss continuing my career with them. A week later, I'm contacted by an external recruiter for a position with the firm. The position is perfect, and I would love to join them, but agreed with the CEO to wait till the end of summer to start the interview process.
Any way I can leverage the recruiter, or the information he gave me, in regards to scoring an offer from this firm? Feels like I'm missing an opportunity by not approaching this from both venues
So I’m probably thinking too much. But I’m looking to leave public accounting and have an opportunity with internal audit. I want to make sure where I go I have good opportunities to advance and if needed be marketable to other companies. Do you think internal audit makes you more or less marketable to other opportunities in the future?
