Besides working on Excel, what skill(s) do bankers have that is better than other professionals?

Hey all - looking for some advice. I’ve been in this sales manager role for a little over 2 years now and I’m making $115k for salary. However, I have no bonuses, no commission, no additional income no matter if I hit the sales targets or not. Thoughts on this?

I’m currently negotiating/interviewing with a company that created a hybrid role for me. Not a specific role so it is difficult to find what a good salary would be. Any advice ?

I work in tech sales selling a software development tool. I work with a lot of partners who help my customers use the tool to build apps and websites. I’m starting a new sales job in cyber security (old and new companies don’t compete). I was approached by a partner of my old company to advise for them part time (5 hours a week). I plan to commit 100% to my new job but would like to try the advising thing for a month, part time. Does anyone else do something similar? FTE + consult on the side?

If you’ve switched from HR generalist (manager, director, etc.) roles to specialize in something, can you share how you made the switch? Curious how to articulate to potential employers how I’m qualified to specialize rather than be a generalist, if generalist roles are what I have for 6+ years of experience. Thanks!

Thoughts on CAIA? Difficulty, hours studied, study tips, overall experiences, etc.? I’ll be sitting for Level 1 in September. Currently work in the fund of funds space - moving over to my firm’s hedge fund research team soon so CAIA seemed like a perfect way to get knowledge in the area beforehand. I’m almost one year out of undergrad (econ background) so a lot of the CAIA content is new to me

I had an interview for an Enterprise AE role and towards the end the HM said, “I think you’d be a great fit. I want you to move forward here, but I’m not sure if you’re b2b or Enterprise” At my last gig, this happened and they sold me on the less senior role by saying “it’s essentially the same role”(which obv, isn’t true; it just pays less). How do I vet in this situation situation to avoid getting screwed?

For those who have had great managers, what made them great?

Okay so maybe a stupid question but here goes… is there a finance specialist recruiter (or similar term)? I’ve been trying to see if I can find someone to help me with finding niche FP&A jobs, but so far I’ve only seen headhunters who recruit at the executive level (and for a small fortune). The next best options seem to be agencies (Robert Half and Parker + Lynch) and career coaches on LinkedIn. Does anyone have experience with working with agencies & can share? Any suggestions?
