Currently 25 y/o making 70k/year in Boston. I grew up pretty poor and I have minimal financial education. A lot of my salary now goes towards helping my parents get out of debt. My parents are no longer able to live on their own, so considering selling my grandmas house where they live (maybe 550k), paying off their mortgage (100k) and buying a duplex (between them they make about 55k/year). Is buying a two family home a good investment ? How much can I afford to spend on a new house?

Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support. Is it a good idea to invest in your UK pension fund over the max your employer will contribute/match? This may potentially lower income tax but then one can't really access the pension pot till retirement. Or is it better to invest post-tax income into a stocks and shares ISA to avoid capital gains tax? TIA!

Due to a mix of circumstance, hikes / job moves, i’ve 2x my salary over the last year.
However, regardless of much i earn, it feels as if i will never feel rich or save enough in a place like London. Crazy constantly increasing taxes, sky rocketing rents and early saturation in salaries. Is UK the right place to be or is it the same everywhere.
