Hey guys, I want to move to client (pharma) side after 10 years on agency side with experience in medcomms & med affairs related functions in the Canadian and US markets. Finding it very difficult to get my foot in through the door in associate medical director/medical director type of roles in major pharma companies. I'm situated in Canada, so looking for remote positions mainly - but happy to relocate to the US if the company is willing to sponsor a Canadian.

Hi, I had about 7 years of agency experience and now have been on the pharma side for 2.5 years. If you’d like to chat about what you’re looking for, feel free to message me

Are you an MD? If not you probably shouldn't be applying to medical director roles in pharma, they're usually clinical and require an MD. I made the jump - it was very hard and only was able to because of a connection. Had to take a big title drop (my title isn't what's showing up) and pay cut. The job market in pharma is incredibly competitive right now due to repeated layoffs.

Yup, I'm an MD. I don't mind taking a title drop and pay drop if I can get my foot in through the door somewhere. The biggest obstacle for me right now is that these positions are few and far between here in Canada. And the job market is definitely tough.

That's wonderful! You must have a wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical field. I've also been looking into this area recently, and I hope to have the opportunity to learn from and exchange ideas with you when it's convenient for you
