What do you think about working for a defense and space contractor? I currently work at a large space contractor and it’s awful. I legit haven’t learned anything (maybe 3 things and they are very minimal and not really anything) in the couple of years I’ve been here since everything is so controlled and thinking outside of the box is a no no.

Team just applied for a TS Clearance (defense agency). Trying to assess if it makes sense to wait till the clearance comes through (6 months to a year?) before I job hop. I'm hoping to get some clarity on the following:
1. Can my company withdraw or cancel my clearance if I leave right after I secure a TS?
2. In terms of compensation, how much value (% compensation) does a TS clearance have in the DC area? Places I'm considering: AWS, Azure, GCP, Data bricks, Appian etc.

So, I landed a Customer Service Advisor job at Sitel in the UK. But I heard that they fire you without any prior notice or end their campaigns abruptly, leaving us with no job. I have been a practicing (patent prosecution) lawyer in different firms for about 20 years. I would love to do something more creative but still techie (computers, telecom, apps, etc.). I've always been interested in improving the software that practicing lawyers use (whether patent-specific or not). I am also kind of an academic at heart, but I live in a locale where professorial jobs are pretty limited and we're rooted here now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.
