He did it during his first term too so no I didn't think he was bluffing. It is however amazing how many people don't understand that its a tax on the American companies and the American consumer and that its not paid by Canada or Mexico or China.
Anyway it will be an all out trade war and the other nations will just band together to open their trade routes between them more. This will lower how much America matters in global trade and in the end America looses. Had a great economy for 4 years. We were sick of winning for the past 4 years so we wanted to loose again. Let's go!
Yeah short term it may save us a few dollars but long term it hurts and would take decades to recover if we ever will. Once companies start to invest elsewhere as our economy is not as stable anymore changing direction will take a long time. It's sad but the majority of the US wanted this.
Why did you think he was bluffing?
- He did this during his first term
- He explicitly said he would do it while campaigning
- His entire team + congressional republicans said they would sign off on it
He’s been in the political spotlight for almost a decade and hasn’t changed one bit on this!
Tariffs and the economy is just one concern. In case you haven’t noticed, our country is under attack.
I think a lot of what is going on is smoke and mirrors. Throw this all out to the public so you don’t pull the curtain back and see what’s really going on.
Don't worry, once Trump Gaza is built and Greenland is full of $hitty casinos like Atlantic City the US will be ON TOP OF THE WORLD AGAIN! /s
