Joining McK. Currently picking out my corporate card. Amex Platinum/Gold require me to pay my own yearly fee but they obviously have better perks like airline lounge access, and points. Is it worth it? Are the points I accumulate mine? Will I have them when and if I leave the firm?
AMEX Platinum: Just saying thanks to all the tips y’all share in here. I was able to get a $500 statement credit (other option was 50K pts). Just call and ask to be transfer to retention services and explain politely that the annual fee isn’t justified due to COVID and lack of work travel! I also cancelled my Clear membership and got that pro rated refund too (or keep it and get 2 months free).
Did any of you get credit on your Amex Corp card like the one below? My roommate and I got this credit, but for different amounts. Not sure what it’s about :/ not complaining. Just checking
Woke up at 4am with an interesting question. How much money (range) on average does travel points (miles, hotel, Amex, expensed meals) add to our salary if you travel 80% of the year?
I’m going to use my (crap) corporate AmEx to expense my $234 Spectrum cable bill. “Working from home” requires 10+ hours a day of high speed Internet. Come at me, finance.
I have CSR, Amex Plat, Amex Gold, and Amex Bonvoy ($95 fee one). Are they worth keeping, esp. CSR and Plat? For Amex Gold, they have already charged my account. Anyway to reduce the fee after the fact?
Anyone else get annoyed by the 2-3 days it takes Marriott to post points to your account? Like Delta is almost instant and when you transfer amex points its instant. Why does Marriott take so long...?
How many of you are thinking about closing your premium credit cards (CSR, Amex Platinum etc) considering lack of ability to travel and dine out?
In general, do you notice what credit card someone uses? For example when getting drinks with a group. Or not think about it at all - unless it was like a titanium amex. Trying to settle a debate.
Looking into AMEX credit cards since the Chase Sapphire Reserve upped their fee and the additional “benefits” suck. What card is better, Gold or Platinum? Not sure which ones to get
Best credit card with no foreign transaction fees? I already have the Amex Gold but its hardly accepted abroad. Also don’t want to pay another hefty annual fee (don’t mind under $100)
Not sure if this is the right bowl but has anyone tried to get a fee waiver for their Amex or Chase cards, since we aren’t really using the cards (i.e lounge access, travel insurance etc)
Just woke up and will miss 6am✈️ any help rescheduling? AMEX? Delta? Don’t want to pay the fee, client budget?
This feeling when you pay for your therapy appointment with a $300 prepaid amex card you got from your project as a thank you.
Went out clubbing last night and woke up to a $900 charge on the AMEX.... do I call ethics on myself
Tell me I am not alone in extreme procrastination for filing expenses...this recent spiral caught up to me and now my Amex card is disabled 🙄 whoops.
FYI: if you have an Amex corporate card and a personal Amex Platinum or Gold card, you can get a $150 (plat) or $100 (gold) annual statement credit. Works for both cards if you have both!
So I used Amex plat to buy a flight to Peru. My flight got canceled due to the virus, can I use the flight cancellation insurance the card provides to get my money back?
CONFIRMED: delta gift card partial airfare loophole works for amex platinum $200 credit. Note: not the old trick where you just buy a giftcard, details below.
