I’m an L6 SDM at Amazon but a Meta recruiter sent me an M2 sdm job description. I have all the XP I need from previous job experience but does Meta keep your same level as Amazon? Meaning if I am an L6 at Amazon am I automatically interviewing at M1 or can I jump to an M2?Amazon Facebook (Meta)

Rising Star
I joined Amgen as a Global Marketing Manager for Customer Capabilities with nearly 9 years of experience and high expectations. Unfortunately, my 5-month experience was deeply disappointing due to poor leadership and lack of HR support.
From day one, I experienced excessive micromanagement, disrespect, and constant scrutiny instead of proper onboarding and support. A missed stakeholder call during my initial days was treated as a major failure rather than a normal part of joining a new organization. Within 3 months, I was placed on a 30-day improvement plan that felt more like an effort to prove incompetence than genuine support for improvement. Feedback was vague, often personal, and not constructive.
Claims that I needed “handholding” for basic tasks were simply untrue and disrespectful given my experience. The most unacceptable incident was being publicly questioned and targeted during a training session in front of my team and external vendors. Instead of coaching privately, public humiliation was chosen despite clearly seeing my discomfort. That behavior reflected poor leadership from my manager, not performance management. When I raised these concerns after I resigned from this toxicity with HR, there was no meaningful action or support. Instead, my laptop and phone were collected, and I was placed on garden leave, which felt like punishment for speaking up rather than a fair resolution process. I am sharing this not to badmouth anyone, but to speak my truth. I believe in allowing karma to take its course rather than carrying bitterness.
However, silence should not come at the cost of dignity. Performance management should never become personal, and no employee deserves to be treated this way. I only hope organizations reflect more deeply on leadership accountability, employee dignity, and the true purpose of HR not just to protect hierarchy, but to protect fairness.
Initially they hired managers/ leads from indian service based MNCs. And the suffering begins.
They brought their toxicity along with them
