I’ve started working at this law firm back in March of this year. I wasn’t too familiar with the law field and was in school to become a paralegal. I accepted this position of being an administrative assistant at their firm and started to learn a lot of things that my major would cover. I work with 3 other people including two attorneys and one paralegal. Fast forward a few months now, I’ve started to realize that this firm may not be a good fit for me. But I’m finding it hard to leave, tips?

I was heavily recruited to another department in a leadership role and verbally offered the job. It will be a lateral move with a larger ceiling. Is it unreasonable to try and ask for a raise? But now I am in confusion whether even if I get an offer for $300k , when the buyers bank does appraisal and if it comes below $300 k , then what will happen. 1. If the buyer has cash offer then nothing like that 2. But if not then say the appraisal came for $280 , what do we do then ?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

Sometimes I step away from the laptop to take a quick nap. Log back on in a hour or so, hoping for the work to be already completed.
