Senior Manager 1 - you can, it’s just a matter of having a degree in business management/accounting (CPA is preferred, but not required), experience, and knowing which firms in your area do forensic accounting. In Los Angeles, there are a handful of firms who do what we do (handling opposing clients or transferring clients to us). We’re typically appointed by attorneys, so that creates a reliable source of consistent work and usually pretty decent income. Most of us are ex-b4 and won’t go back due to salary/hours/loss of interest in the work. This is a good alternative to a career change :)
And before anyone asks, the answer is yes, I do include my mastery of MS Paint as a skill set on my resume, just above Excel.
Our company requires us all to do “IT Security Training” once a year, which covers things that should be common sense. The videos and stock photos they use in the training are absolutely ridiculous, so some of us like to screenshot the stills and remix them into something even more ridiculous. This is one of them.
Senior Manager 1 - Tracing Analysts do just that: tracing analysis for litigation matters. I do litigation tracing for a private forensic accounting firm who specialize in high profile family law matters. Keeps things interesting.
Who is Kyle
Thanks for the info, definitely something I will look into. Good luck with the training classes... 😳
WHAT HAVE DONE KYLE!!!!
Wtf?
I don't get it... and I am in IT. But honestly I am more interested in what a Forensic Tracing Analyst does?
Gotcha. Sounds interesting, can you get into forensics without being a CFE? I always wanted to go that route, but then life got in the way... When I was in college there was no fraud curriculum...
