Can you share first year salary for midsize firms? I'm in NJ, but curious to hear other markets. Also billable targets? Thanks!

140-150 at Bressler i think. 150- 200 plus lawyers?

like

1st years at Riker are paid $135k. I think we have almost 150 attorneys in NJ, mostly in Morristown (or remote). The target is 160 billable hours per month but that’s generally flexible depending on practice group.

like

I have not heard any information with respect to changes in the lockstep thresholds.

This is helpful thank you! Wondering about smaller firms- under 70 attorneys? (Maybe that isn't considered mid size anymore, not sure)

like

You’ll see a lot more variation that size. I’ve seen firms in that range paying from $70k to $125k for first years.

Depends on practice area. My firm has 150-200 attorneys and is located in LA, NY and DC. First year salary is 185k I believe for a cap markets associate. In NJ, and in other practice areas, I believe it would be less than that.

Starting is $105k with an 1850 billable hour requirement. Harrisburg, PA. 170 attorneys.

In addition, my director said I will be receiving 'deep delegation' from them. I don't mind more work, but deep delegation is a new term I've never heard. What does that mean lol?

I am starting a 4-months internship at a company B in January. However, I just heard from a company T that they will interview me for their full time position.

Company T is paying me way more (twice) than Company B. And I like company T more. However, they want me to start working in February if I get this position. If I end up getting the offer, I will have to quit my internship at Company B, almost immediately after I begin the internship.

Is this okay?

A few months ago, there were articles about how Juniper Park/TBWA’s hand sign saved the life of a kidnapped girl in a car. But the next day, reporters asked the guy who called the cops about it and he said he had no idea what the hand sign meant, he actually called the cops because the kidnapped girl kept mouthing “Help me.” I’ve heard of agencies exaggerating sales results or click through rates in case studies, I really hope JP/TBWA isn’t exaggerating about, literally, saving someone’s life.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
