Do you find it weird if a final round candidate was not selected for the role, but tries to connect with you on linkedin? I personally don't mind, especially if it was a good interview but I've heard mixed opinions. What's your perspective on this?

I don't mind it either. They may be interested in other roles down the line that better fit their skillset.

this was my thought too!

There’s nothing weird about it. Assuming they’re looking for feedback and will message or just addicted to new connections on LinkedIn.

or just staying connected for future ops :)

I would find it a little bit strange, unless they were messaging specifically to ask me a question. My thinking would be: why would they want to maintain a LinkedIn connection with somebody from a job they didn't get?

not even to stay connected for a future role down the line?

Small world, I may work for them someday.

exactly haha

There's nothing wrong with it. As long as things didn't turn acrimonious, I see no reason not to accept the request. Maybe a role will open up down the road that they're a better fit for.

thanks! I was thinking the same!
