I don’t let other people’s pay enrage me when they have a different job.
I am significantly more enraged that billionaires exist. Someone making $685k makes me a little envious, but not angry. I'm angry that there are people working hard for $8/hour.
Working circles around them? Not sure about that. I didn't choose a career where I'd become rich.
Nope. Maybe you shouldn’t work in HR if you struggle with different jobs having different pay.
Pay isn’t about effort, it’s about scarcity and leverage. HR admin skills are widely available and easy to replace, so pay is capped. AI engineers are scarce and can directly move revenue and valuation, so the market pays a premium. If you want AI money, you have to compete in the AI labor market.
