Personally, I don't think it is. My cousin just told me a story about her and a guy who got hired at the exact same time for the exact same role. They are both fresh out college and he is making $10,000 more. Simply bc of his gender. It’s so messed up.

I suspect it has improved, I mean, relative to how it was years or decades ago. But I'd be very surprised to learn that it was approaching parity. If anything, I would expect it to be getting worse in the coming years. There's a real assault on diversity and equity, and people will take pride in erasing any progress that may have been made.

No I really don't think it has. I mean its possible there is less of a gap but its probably not by much and it definitely isn't equal. Its sad that we are in 2025 and still have a gender pay gap. I really hope that is something that changes in the near future.

I interviewed with Amazon for SDE 1 role on 31 November 2021. Out of 4 rounds held on the same day, 2 went really good and other two were just alright.
