Do recommendations on LinkedIn provide any value to potential employers? Do recruiters look at them? What do recruiters look at on a LinkedIn profile?
Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Are you doing performance evals during COVID?
What's your experience with requiring bras at work? We are required to wear a bra or something over or under their their top to hide parts of their body that our employer does not want exposed. What's your experience in your organization? How are you handling it? What is or isn't appropriate?
If firms go exclusively remote, I have zero reason to remain living near “home office”. Likelihood we’ll shift to that model, and can live wherever?
I am looking for best practices in reducing anxiety in the workplace, especially for remote workers. What are you all doing?
Is it neccessary to pay for an Employer Indeed account? What is your experiance/opinion of paying for Indeed Employer services?
How are your companies handling employees wanting to work from anywhere (any US state) now that the remote situation is still ongoing (with no end in some cities)? Are you allowing it for a certain amount of days/months? It’s been the bane of my work existence lately!
What are HR folks seeing as an average cost for payroll providers? I'm going through demos with Paycor and would like to know what a reasonable breakdown is for payroll, time & attendance, onboarding, etc. How do you measure? Cost per employee? Any help is appreciated!
My last agency hired back a ton of the people who were laid off (thankfully I landed a new gig, would not go back to that place). They decided to bring back 10/19 that were laid off. Unfortunately, they are notorious for doing this on multiple occasions. What are your thoughts on hiring back those you let go? And to clarify as a group we were let go not furloughed.
Alright let's have some fun!..... What's the funniest/craziest/ridiculous thing you've had to deal with at work?
I’ve been tasked right off the bat with implementing Facebook Workplace as an engagement/communication tool. I looked it up and seems fairly easy, especially as a facebook user. But as with anything it can be a challenge to get employees to actually use/check it. So-- does anyone have experience with Facebook Workplace? If so, what are some things that have worked/didn't work for you. Do you like it?
I‘ve been at my company since quarantine started and have been using my personal cell phone to make work calls and conduct phone interviews. I noticed my cell/AT&T bill has gone up. In my past jobs I’ve had a work cell l so never had to worry about this. Should I bring this up with my boss or HR regarding getting a possible cell phone stipend? Of course most of our corporate team also use their cell phones but since I recruit and interview people all day, I’m using my cell a lot.
My team has made tremendous efforts during the pandemic to ensure the safety of all facilities and people in our region as we resume in-office activity. Predicated on confidentiality, my colleague went to HR with negative feedback re a specific leader’s flexibility with the *mandatory* PPE protocol. The HR Manager went directly to the leader and gave the feedback along w my colleagues name. Since that day she’s been heavily “taxed.” HR has a responsibility to protect anonymity. How to handle?
What's the harshest thing your Buyer has ever said to you? Ex: Buyer emailed my colleague "instead of sharing photos of our empty shelves why don't you spend your time getting us more product"
NEW TECHNOLOGY ALERT! I just received a Beta link to try out an upcoming feature in Pipedrive. They added the ability to prospect from their Leads tab digitally. You put in the search criteria, and their search engine will go out and pull in contacts or companies based on your search. From there, you can add the lead to your leads section. The person-based leads I have found thus far have had an email address, phone numbers, and LinkedIn links. Give it a look if you can. It is pretty neat.
I'm probably overthinking this, but I figured I would ask anyways--what should I swear to a video interview? The position is an HR Generalist position, and will include the hiring manager (director), an HR Manager, a HRBP, and the VP of HR. Other members of the HR may "pop in" as well, but I was told those would be informal meet and greets.
I had someone who previously worked at the business reach out claiming sexual harassment happened while working there. We’ve tried calling this individual multiple times to get more details but now they changed their mind and don’t want to talk. At what point do I close this investigation if they continue to dodge the calls? For context, there have been no prior complaints in this area of the business, not even subtle gossip.
Seems like I might be single again soon... How bad is the NYC dating scene during COVID? really dreading going back to single life and the social isolation/being alone all day :-/ (M,36)
Interviewing for an Associate Director role with no solid management experience. Anyone been in the same boat? Any advice?
Just found out I got into NYU (full time MBA). I applied pretty early and I interviewed on Oct 30. Heads up for other people applying - they didn’t call me, just got an email saying my application status was updated. Good luck everyone!
Is it better to get an internal referral to move to a different firm or use an outside recruiting firm? If latter, who are the most respected recruiting firms for the top consultancies?
Is it realistic to get into MBB after 2 years of big 4? (Process improvement consulting) Or is transitioning via T20 MBA more realistic?
How do you talk to your boss when your job has evolved to something very different from what you were hired to do and you’re not happy without getting fired or phased out?
Found a couple of positions at Apple and google that really fit my background from pre MBA and consulting experience. For context, only 1 year in S& with M7 MBA, is it too early to exit and should I stick around a bit longer?
Do you keep the work in your portfolio + the well known company on your resume if you were fired as a contractor? If yes, then what exactly do you say in your next interview? I plan to honest + brief
Might be the wrong place to ask this but what is the salary range for a senior VP and an entry level Director in Sell Side Capital Markets firms based in New York?
What is a tax reporting administrator and is that a pay grade lower than associate? Reasonably is there any possibility for promotion from such role to another?
If my SO gets rid of her Sapphire Preferred card and only has the Freedom Unlimited, can she still transfer those points to me or are they strictly cash back at that point?
My company is doing paid social for the 1st time & asked me to come up with a budget proposal and I have no idea. Doing lots of research but ad agencies don't seem to typically spend on self-promotion
MBA in university of Washington? Does it worth it? Relocate to other cities for two year MBA seems difficult for a married man
How do the upgrades on Delta work. Newbie here. Last night there were 6 first class seat available and I was 4/6. This morning there are 2 available and i am 6/12. When do the seats actually clear?
Anyone here get denied for the CRCM certification? Trying to figure out what their reasons are for denying an application.
I was laid off 2 months ago. I have 2 offers now: (1) staffing agency that has lots of experience with H1b transfers and (2) Series A startup that found me through Linkedin and I will be their first hire for my specific department but this will also be their first time sponsoring an H1B. The staffing agency is a safe bet because of the immigration issues. On the other hand, the startup opportunity will be an amazing step for my career. Is it risky to file for H1B with Series A startup?
How do you organize your files? My desktop’s full of decks that I’m not sure if I should delete or not
