Bonus, HaHa, I work in healthcare and for us that isn't a thing and raises now are 3% across the board unless you are in the nursing union or in Administration (CEO, CIO, CFO) type positions. Our Insurance premium increases this year take out about 2x what our raises were.
I’ve had similar experiences before, where the reward felt more like a slap in the face. If it’s not improving, it might be worth exploring new opportunities!
Same here. Our bonuses used to feel meaningful, but now they feel like a token gesture. I started casually looking to see what else is out there.
I remember my "bonus" being a cheap coffee mug or an umbrella with the company I used to work for and now I work for a company that does a real bonus at the end of the year, so we will see what that's like.
I took a new job after 13 years of Emergency Medicine. I had my new company put my bonus as a retention bonus at the end of each year. (I also got a sign on bonus.) This bonus increased after each year of experience. If they want to keep me as my experience continues to grow and I am making you money then pay to retain me. This has worked out perfectly. I grind for them because they treat me well. Should always be a symbiotic relationship! Leaving ER medicine was hard, but so glad I took the leap. Great jobs are out there, but you have to get out of your comfort zone and go for it!
