Amazon L7 equivalent in PWC?
Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Did you have a referral to the role?
If no, you’re in the “other” stack. With several hundred other candidates.
Honestly, skills and experience aren’t even being seen in this day and age. Every open role gets hundreds if not thousands of applications, and many of them look / feel the same because they all used the same LLM’s to customize their resume to the job description. So how do you know which candidates are real, or would be enjoyable to work with? You ask your existing employees if they can vouch for anyone in the stack of candidates. And that’s why you need a referral to get an interview these days.
It’s very very rare in this day and age. Most roles are getting 300+ if not 1,000+ applications. All of them have been “optimized” for ATS purposes. So where do you start? Maybe 30% to 40% have very high scores.
Multiple hiring managers have told me they start with referrals because it cuts through the noise fastest.

If you're asking if they take your race and gender into consideration, well that would be illegal. I have to believe the vast majority of employers are not stack ranking candidates based on those criteria. But I suppose if you were really on a mission you could submit the exact same resume with different PII and then change your demographics and see what happens. The problem is, one occurrence isn't proof, it's coincidence. It would have to be somewhat repeatable to establish a pattern for it to carry any legal weight. Personally I would just move on.

Of course that doesn't mean it's not happening but I'm sure it's a very tiny percentage. Just because no one wants to interview you doesn't automatically mean it's discrimination. It's a tough market for everyone, not just you.

Which demographics? Maybe your location, if you are not in their preferred area.
No I don’t think so.
