Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?
Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

If that’s TC it depends on the base/equity split - 60-70k base salary would be good in most of EU. It really depends on where are you based. For northern countries - Germany, France, Ireland, Scandinavians, Benelux… - it is average, maybe a bit low. For south Europe - Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece… - is on the higher end of the spectrum. Even then it would depend on specific cities and areas. If you can choose and like the beach go to Canary Islands and enjoy life, that’s not a bad salary there, at all :D
Based in Western Europe, so yeah I guess a bit low then. Not sure about the ratio yet, recruiter kept pushing that it depends on the interview result etc. Thanks for sharing!
Spotify in general is not high paying. There are many other perks and benefits, depending on what is important to you.
Stock market is favorable for equity right now tho.
Yeah, that's understandable. Keen to know more about the benefits and all, I guess that would be explained in the final bit.
It’s low especially if you don’t have bonus… but as said before me, if the position can be in south Europe, that’s « ok ». But definitely not if you’re in France or above. What’s your current package ?
What’s the currency? If in SEK then it is high-average for Sweden. Euro and USD would be good, since SEK is weak now. You can live a quite comfortable life in Sweden with that salary.
It is indeed in EUR
