We’ve had people bring their dogs in… but they were clients not staff… my wife had a banker that brought her dog in as part of an accommodation… and it literally just slept in its bed all day…
It’s cute for a limited amount of time…

I'd be on board with client only dogs. Then you get the limited time and also time to focus.

It's really fun dealing with allergic reactions to them. And having to use a lint roller to get the hair off my clothes.
Chief
Oooof. And this is why it's probably not a standard thing. Not a good time.
How about just stay at home with dogs.

The real life pro tip is always in the comments.
Not any longer. But many years ago, yes. It was fun at first, but they would roam around especially when people were eating and they wouldn’t leave until fed. Their humans ignored them the whole day and the dogs in turn had zero discipline. That made it more of a distraction than fun.
Chief
Yeah, I'd hate that.

Doesn’t sound fun to me
Yes. I look out my window and see them.
And when I go outside, it's like the second coming of Jesus Christ for them.

The best feeling ever
Yes, people bring their dogs in all the time and it is great. It isn't as frequent anymore but that is only because not as many people go in to the actual office anymore post covid, But has always been pet friendly. It is a first come first serve situation. Only 1 dog in the office at a time so it does not become a park.
Chief
That's actually super sweet.
That’d be amazing. Cats too.
A dog friendly workplace is a dream many of us want. Be appreciative if you find one but that should not be the priority. Good luck. My last workplace was really dog friendly but that dog poop gets you everytime.
I did at one point and loved it but the larger the workplace the less practical it becomes, even if there’s only one dog at a time. The bigger the office the more likely you are to have someone who is extremely allergic and wouldn’t be able to come into work. Or had a traumatic experience in the past etc.
I have 2 dogs. Never brought them to work with me. I did however have a colleague who did. BAD colleague (there aren’t bad dogs). She’d leave the dog (alone) in her office. It would cry for the entire time she was gone. Colleague thought it was cute to have it wear jangly collars and then play ball in the hallway. Super fun while you are on a sales call. It was not enjoyable. Like I said BAD colleague.
