The recruiter already knows. They have a record of all the jobs you applied to.
I’ll mention it, but I keep it on the neutral side. Something like “Yes, I’m actively interviewing, but I’m really interested in this role.” In my experience, it hasn’t hurt, and sometimes it actually speeds things up. Recruiters know no one is applying to just one job.
Conversation Starter
I don’t think it’ll hurt because in truth, everyone that is looking for jobs will be interviewing with multiple companies. If anything, it shows that you’re more sought after so they’re truly interested, they will try to speed up the timeline for you. At least that is my experience.
It only comes up when the process is taking a while. I frame it as I’m very interested in this opportunity, but have others as well.
